  • Regional Sales Representative

    Compensation: Base with commission plan.

    Summary: Retia Medical is a venture-backed startup company focusing on the commercialization of advanced hemodynamic monitoring equipment for the management of critically ill patients. Our first product received FDA clearance in December, 2018 and we already have an extensive pipeline of high potential and high status hospital systems.
    The company is led by an outstanding team of medical device executives, scientists and clinical advisors who are driven to improve patient outcomes and the process of clinical care by making more accurate hemodynamic information available and convenient for use at the bedside.

    Function: Regional Sales Representative (multiple openings) for Southeast and Texas is responsible for following up on leads, cold calling, prospecting, and building relationships that will increase account penetration and customer satisfaction. Must initiate and take ownership of the principles of territory management, including: account planning, selling processes, post-sales implementation, and on-going service and training support. The Regional Sales Representative must arrange appointments, make presentations, organize conferences, and support and maintain positive arrangements with all clinicians and customers. She/he must keep up with the latest clinical data supplied by the company, and present and discuss this data with health professionals during presentations. She/he must maintain detailed computerized records of all contacts and progression through the sales funnel. Regional Sales Representative will work with Retia to plan how to approach contacts and create effective business plans for a particular sales area. She/he will be required to attend company meetings and presentations. May be required to travel outside their geographical assignment and perform other duties as requested.

    Qualifications: Demonstrated track record of high performance in sales of patient monitoring equipment into hospitals, and preferably into the operating room and intensive care unit. Track record in selling new products to new accounts a plus. Knowledge of hemodynamics and clinical practices in the care of critically ill and high-risk surgical patients a plus. Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related health-care field preferred. Must be able to learn and quickly master the product, specifications, and key performance advantages as they relate to clinical practice. 5+ years medical sales related experience preferred. Must be able to travel up to 90% of the time in the assigned territory and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and sufficient computer skills to maintain a sales database/relationship management system. Must have or be willing to update all immunizations to comply with hospital vendor requirements.

  • Clinical Specialist

    Job Description: The Clinical Specialist (multiple openings in the Eastern US, Midwest, and South, including Texas) is responsible for providing clinical and technical expertise and support to current and potential customers, and colleagues.

    Under the direction of senior Company leadership, you will work together with your sales team partners to present Retia’s advanced hemodynamic monitor to medical professionals, perform product demonstrations, coordinate evaluations and installations, conduct training sessions, and provide after-sales clinical support.

    You shall develop and maintain extensive knowledge of your customers, hemodynamic care protocols, and competitor products and activity.

    You will work closely with your sales team colleagues to implement sales and training strategies for capital equipment and software/service contracts within accounts.

    You may also assist with new hire training, attend tradeshows, and work with other company departments to provide feedback on potential marketing communications, identify unmet clinical needs, assist research projects, and review product opportunities.

    You will represent the Company well, including demonstrating core values of integrity, respect, professionalism, and dedication to improving patient outcomes.

    These activities will be performed on-site or virtually. Significant travel will be required.

    Ability to complete other tasks as assigned in a fast-paced environment and in an organized manner while meeting deadlines.

    Qualifications:

    • Registered Nursing Degree (RN) with advanced degree optional.
    • At least 2 years as a critical care nurse, or a cardiovascular OR nurse.
    • At least 2 years of prior industry experience in a field sales or clinical education role. If you do not have industry experience, please share your resume for consideration for potential per diem opportunities.
    • Solid knowledge of advanced hemodynamics, monitoring technology, and hemodynamic-guided protocols for resuscitation.
    • Knowledge of critical care and/or high-risk surgical care practices, terminology and cases.
    • Ability to use clinical expertise to identify customer training and in-service needs with the goal of increasing customer usage, comfort and understanding of the Company’s products.
    • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Familiarity with CRM software desirable.
    • Experience in a nursing education role, speaking and/or other teaching experience highly desirable.
    • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with physicians, nurses, hospital administrators, as well as peers and colleagues across the company.
    • Ability to meet vendor credentialing requirements.
    • Must be willing to travel regionally and across the US. Willingness to provide evening and weekend customer call coverage as needed.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance policy. In addition, your driving record will be reviewed and will be considered as part of your application.
  • Biomedical Data Scientist

    At Retia Medical Systems, we are passionate about improving cardiovascular health through innovative technology. We are a fast-growing company located just north of New York City in Valhalla, NY.

    We are looking for a motivated data scientist to join our R&D team to analyze clinical data and support Retia’s algorithm development and clinical studies. Your primary tasks will be to analyze and visualize multi-channel timeseries data. You will help develop and implement novel algorithms that will directly impact patient care. Other responsibilities include maintaining Retia’s clinical database and supporting regulatory, clinical sales and marketing.

    Qualifications:

    • Strong in at least one of the following areas: signal processing, system identification, statistical pattern recognition, machine learning/AI methods, controls, optimization, linear/nonlinear dynamics, statistics.
    • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Bioengineering, or a related subject. Master’s will also be considered with relevant coursework or experience.
    • Advanced MATLAB or Python skills are required.
    • Previous experience with time-series data analysis is a plus.
    • Previous experience with biomedical signal processing (ECG/EEG/MEG/PPG/BP etc.) and physiological modeling is a plus.

  • Quality Manager

    Job Description Summary:

    • Support and maintain Quality Compliance and Quality System Development elements of the Quality Management System. The role requires cross functional project management skills and the ability to influence across the organization to drive compliance activities. Assures activities at Retia remain in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, international standards, and the company’s Quality Policy. Responsible for managing all aspects of Quality Assurance.

    Position Responsibilities and Authorities:

    • Develops and review procedures to ensure that the appropriate checks and balances are included to ensure a quality output.
    • Initiates and organizes best practice activities aimed at the continuous improvement of business and quality practices through a team approach.
    • Performs and assign responsibilities within QA to ensure company objectives are achieved in a timely manner.
    • Conducts internal audits, and supplier audits, as necessary. Conducts department level gap assessments and audits for compliance to regulations and standards.
    • Develops and implements quality inspection procedures and reviews records for compliance.
    • Manages and maintain CAPA, NCMR, Equipment, Supplier, Records, and Training systems.
    • Supports and ensures compliance of the company quality system with US and OUS regulatory requirements. Assists in the development and implementation of the quality management system.
    • Manages the document control system in accordance with the quality system requirements.
    • Coordinates and/or provides training to employees for GMP/ISO and quality system procedures. Maintains current training record files for all employees.
    • Initiate and lead quality and reliability improvement activities for internal and supplier processes.
    • Maintains the post marketing surveillance process and its records.
    • Assists in the promotion, maintenance and supporting compliance to applicable federal and state regulations, international standards, and the company’s Quality Policy.

    Qualification Requirements:

    Education:

    • BS degree in Engineering or scientific discipline or equivalent experience.

    Experience & Skills:

    • 5 years’ minimum experience working in medical device industry.
    • Dynamic leadership and interpersonal skills
    • Experience in working with manufacturing, operations, and engineering in medical device preferred.
    • ISO60601 product experience
    • Works well under pressure, organized and self-motivated
    • Experience in a small company environment is a plus
    • Ability to work independently or in a team setting
    • Knowledge of and exposure to product inspection, data collection and product testing.
    • Familiar with design control procedures and requirements
    • Solid knowledge and interpretation of applicable regulations, guidelines and policy statements (QSR, MDD, MDR, and ISO).

  • Marketing Manager

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and execute strategic marketing plan to drive adoption of Retia’s Argos Hemodynamic Monitor
    • Develop product positioning and pricing strategy in consultation with senior leadership.
    • Develop and implement a compelling messaging strategy in consultation with the clinical team.
    • Lead market and competitive intelligence activities.
    • Conduct primary and secondary market research and support next generation product development.
    • Drive brand expansion, including by word of mouth, user and KOL engagement via tradeshows, education, and other programs.
    • Develop digital and social media marketing campaigns including website content, social media accounts.
    • Identify and partner with creative agencies to produce professional marketing assets, including product collateral, exhibits, slide decks, application guides and other marketing materials.
    • Work with PR firms to drive paid and unpaid media coverage as appropriate.
    • Monitor and analyze results from digital marketing, tradeshows, workshops and other customer engagement activities to ensure effective spending and return on investment.
    • Partner with sales leadership to develop training materials and tools for the sales team.
    • Partner with Clinical and R&D teams to build the pipeline of clinical studies, white papers, surveys and other data to support current and future marketing claims.
    • Address incoming requests for product enhancement and support from other areas of the organization, such as sales, clinical, etc.

    Requirements:

    • BS degree required, preferably in engineering, marketing, or life sciences. MBA is preferred.
    • Five + (5) years marketing experience, preferably at a medical device company.
    • Self-starting, organized thinker who can excel with minimal supervision.
    • Knowledge and experience in market analysis.
    • Excellent oral presentation and written communications skills.
    • Good analytical skills and strong proficiency in MS Office, CRM software, etc.
    • Management skills and proven ability to work cross-functionally.
    • Management/Leadership experience preferred; (3-5 years)
    • Medical device domain knowledge, including sales, development and marketing of medical monitoring and associated software
    • Expertise and knowledge of SEO, SEM, Digital tools and building and executing digital strategy.
